As part of his campaign promise in his second term, U.S. President Donald Trump pledged to stop illegal immigration into the United States. In line with that promise, he has launched a large-scale enforcement operation. Recently, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a list of “worst of the worst” foreign criminals arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The list includes criminals from various countries, along with at least 10 Bangladeshis and details of their alleged crimes.

According to ICE data, the arrested Bangladeshis from different U.S. states include Kazi Abu Saeed. Saeed was arrested in Kansas and faces allegations of child sexual abuse and operating illegal gambling.

Another individual on the list is a Bangladeshi named Sahed Hasan, who was arrested in North Carolina. He has been charged with illegal possession of weapons and theft.

Similarly, two more Bangladeshis named Mohammad Ahmed and Md. Hossain were arrested in New York. They face charges of sexual assault and sexual offenses.

In addition, Mahtab Uddin Ahmed was arrested in Chantilly, Virginia, for alleged drug dealing, including marijuana and other narcotics.

Another individual, Noyez Khan, was arrested in Marlin, Texas, on drug-related charges.

Likewise, a Bangladeshi named Ishtiak Rafi was arrested in Manassas, Virginia, for alleged possession of weapons and drugs.

Meanwhile, Bangladeshi citizen Alamgir Chowdhury was arrested in Mount Clemens, Michigan, on credit card fraud charges. Another Bangladeshi, Kanak Parvez, was arrested in Arizona on similar fraud charges.

Shahriar Abir was arrested in Pensacola, Florida, on theft charges.

The Department of Homeland Security stated that, under President Trump’s directive, they are prioritizing individuals who pose a threat to public safety.

A DHS statement added that ICE’s hardworking officers are fulfilling the President’s promise. They have begun deportation proceedings against undocumented individuals involved in serious crimes.
